||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick has reminded the regional political leadership to uphold the country's constitution.
 
She made the call during the Regional Development Update address.

The Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Sylvia Makgone, commended Golden Fin Fishing Masters for using part of their allocated fishing quota to drill two boreholes and build water infrastructure for the community of !Gainachas in the ||Kharas Region.

Cabinet has issued a directive to NamPower to put on hold the planned suspensions of power supply to defaulting local authorities.

The Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises, Ipumbu Shiimi, said this in a letter to the NamPower Board Chairperson, Daniel Motinga, yesterday.

The Namibian Police (NamPol) says the recent shortlisting for recruitment of cadet constable officers is still in the infancy stage and is not final.

The comments by the police come amid a public outcry over the shortlisting of candidates, particularly in the Hardap and ||Kharas regions.

Scholtz hosted a one-day leadership and mentoring workshop for members of the Learner Representative Council of Luderitz Secondary School over the weekend.

Angolan Ambassador to Namibia, Jovelina e Costa is on a familiarization visit in the ||Kharas and Hardap Regions, where she is expected to meet with Angolan citizens based there. 

It is unclear how many Angolan nationals are currently residing in the two regions. 

A number of visually impaired people have expressed appreciation for the equal opportunities available to them to participate in economic activities to uplift themselves and their communities.

Warmbad Hotsprings Lodge in the south is in a dilapidated state, mainly due to vandalism.
 
Sylvester Sibungo, Chief Complaints Investigator for ||Kharas and Hardap in the Ombudsman's Office, is of the view that this situation is due to maladministration.
