Landless residents of Otavi's Kap En Bou are unhappy about the temporary suspension of the plot allocation waiting list, saying some of them have been waiting for the past nine years. 

The Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines, and Energy has praised the Otavi Town Council's Otavi Dream Initiative for its contribution to sustainable development.

Addressing the project relaunch, Gaudentia Kröhne said the gathering brought together players in the sector to nurture initiatives.

With Otavi being at the centre of road accidents, Otjozondjupa Governor John ||Khamuseb expressed the need for the expansion of the health centre.

The governor made this statement while handing over two wheelchairs to the health centre.

Otavi Constituency Councillor George !Garab has said that the Otjozondjupa Regional Council must take over the provision of water to residents of Kombat without the involvement of NamWater. 

When the Kombat mine was in full swing, it was providing the residents of Kombat with free water. 

Otjozondjupa Regional leaders have warned locals against consuming spoiled maize meal from bags that were recently disposed of at Otavi’s dumping site. 

These bags were discarded because they had become moldy due to rainwater leaking into the Namib Mills storage facility. 

The Namibian police have reported the murder of a 42-year-old man in Bethanie’s Riverside location.

The victim was stabbed by a 26-year-old suspect who was taken into custody.

In Keetmanshoop’s Tseiblaagte area, a 40-year-old man died following a stabbing incident at a bar.

Established in 2016, Otavi's Kap n Bou informal settlement residents are saying the development of the area is drastically slow.

Although it has been declared as part of the town's location, a lack of basic services is many of the households' outcry.

Election materials are being deployed at the Otavi Depot in the Otjozondjupa Region.

According to ECN Electoral Officer Victoria Amutenya, the region has 207 teams.

People living in the informal settlements of Otavi in the Otjozondjupa Region will be paying a little less for water once the water infrastructure is up in September this year.

The project of setting up the infrastructure, which is funded by B2 Gold Mine, has already commenced.
