President Hage Geingob says it is regrettable that only US$23 billion has been committed to the Green Climate Fund thus far, as developing countries continue to battle the effects of climate change.

President Hage Geingob left for Egypt on Sunday to attend the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27). The conference, which will take place in Sharm el-Sheikh from the 6th to the 18th of November, will push leaders to commit to achieving a zero-carbon future for all.

A total of N$1.2 million was raised for the COP27 conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The conference will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, from November 6–18.
