Members of the Namibian Police Force in the border region of Zambezi have been hailed for a job well done in intercepting cattle rustled from Botswana into Zambia via Namibia by suspected Zambian rustlers.

Commissioner Andreas Nelumbu has officially assumed the role of Kavango West Regional Commander during a hand-over and taking-over ceremony at Nkurenkuru.

Commissioner Nelumbu replaces Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo.

Commissioner Nelumbu joined the Namibian Police Force in 1995.

Zambezi Police Regional Commander Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo held her maiden engagement with the business sector on Tuesday.

The meeting was aimed at information sharing in order to find solutions to ongoing crime that targets their businesses. 

Kavango West Regional Police Commander Julia Sakuwa-Neo says road crashes involving pedestrians are a serious concern in the region.

Commissioner Sakuwa-Neo is thus calling on all road users to be vigilant, especially over the festive season.
