Namibia group launches campaign backing Venezuela

The Namibia-Venezuela Solidarity Group announced the launch of a signature campaign in Namibia in support of the Venezuelan people.

The exercise seeks to garner support from the international community, following the recent military deployment by the United States in the Caribbean Sea. 

Kavango stakeholders call for MVA funeral grant to rise to N$50,000

Stakeholders in the Kavango East and West regions propose that the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund increase its funeral grants to N$50,000.

The proposal was made during a consultative meeting held at Rundu by the MVA Fund to amend the Motor Vehicle Accident Act 10 of 2007.

Jackson Kaujeua Junior dies in Norway

Jackson Kaujeua Junior, son of the iconic Namibian musician the late Jackson Kaujeua, died in Norway this morning after a long battle with cancer. He was aged 46. 

One Economy Foundation celebrates #BeFree youth campus impact in Katutura

The media and stakeholders of the One Economy Foundation have applauded the work of the Foundation as well as the operations of the #BeFree Youth Campus in the heart of Katutura.

The Foundation held a celebration event, which also included a tour of the campus on Friday. 

Pension hike could push social grants bill to N$9 billion - Humavindu

The Namibian government spends around N$7 billion yearly on social grants, with old-age pensions accounting for nearly half of the total. 

Michael Humavindu, the Executive Director in the Ministry of Finance, cautions that raising the pension to a mere N$2,000 could push the bill close to N$9 billion.
