The Namibia National Students Organisation Kavango East Region raised approximately N$41,000 to support its operations and help vulnerable learners register at various tertiary institutions.

The Namibia National Students Organisation has represented the rights of students, trainees, and learners for 40 years.

NANSO assists students in applying to higher learning institutions as well as NSFAF.

The organisation offers career guidance, motivation, and counseling.

The Chairperson of NANSO, Frans Shiyere, states that the biggest challenge for the organisation is financial constraints.

"In our office, we have been receiving cries from parents and learners themselves saying, 'I would love to study at this institution of higher learning, but look at my points: I have 37; they have 42 points, but do not have a registration fee.' As we all know, NANSO has always been a nonprofit organisation; we do not have money. Most often, we recommend these learners visit different shops if they have scholarships."

He added that tertiary education institutions in the Kavango East region offer limited courses, leading learners to settle for programs they are not passionate about.

Shiyere mentioned that some learners with good grades may remain at home for over two years due to a lack of funds to travel to Windhoek to pursue their chosen careers.

"Youth employment must involve institutions such as NANSO—NANSO that is united, clear ideologically, able to envision its future, appreciate its past, and develop a path forward. NANSO should establish a budget that meets our needs."

Dr. Ngurare advised that NANSO's services should extend beyond those who approach them; they should ensure that even learners in remote areas benefit from the organisation.

At the event, calls were made for anyone willing to assist NANSO to help those who cannot help themselves.
