The Henties Bay Municipality has provided plots to low-income earners at a price of N$1,600 per plot.
Minister of Urban and Rural Development James Sankwasa commended the municipality on the development and urged other local authorities to follow suit.
Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa visited the Henties Bay Municipality to assess developmental projects undertaken there by the council.
The Chairman of the Management Committee, Michael Skinni, and several council members accompanied the minister on his tour of the projects.
A highlight among the engagements was the revelation of the municipality's low-cost housing project, through which the municipality offers serviced plots to qualifying individuals at a price of N$1,600 each.
Another was a brick-making project, through which the local authority provides free bricks to screened residents.
The Henties Bay Municipality's housing and land list currently contains the names of N$3,600 hopefuls.
The latest housing and land project is expected to secure services for about 700 people in two extensions.
