In the northern Kunene Region, over five Traditional Authorities have been seeking formal recognition from the government for more than 30 years.
During a meeting at State House with Senior Presidential Special Advisor Christine ||Hoebes, a delegation representing these Traditional Authorities appealed to the Presidency regarding their situation.
The delegation stated that they represent approximately 100,000 people and submitted their applications for recognition at the time of independence.
In response, ||Hoebes assured the delegation that the Presidency would consult relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development and the Council of Traditional Leaders, about the status of their application and provide feedback.
