Participation in elections through voting remains the cornerstone of Namibia's democracy.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah amplified this message as she urged all eligible Namibians to turn up in numbers and register for the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections.

"Those who are called up to register are those who did not register during the 2024 general voter registration, those who have since turned 18, voters who have moved to another constituency, those who reside in the local authority area and whose voter cards do not reflect the town of your residence, and those who require a duplicate voter card due to loss, theft or damage."

The supplementary registration of voters commenced on the 4th of August across the country's 121 constituencies.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia has confirmed that it will announce the first week's provisional supplementary registration of voters' entries in due course.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah's call further underpins the centrality of all voters in strengthening Namibia's widely hailed participatory democracy.

"Fellow Namibians, your vote is a cornerstone of our democracy. I therefore urge you to register early; please do not wait to be the last or wait for the last day. Let us all play our part in shaping the future of our communities and our nation."

The supplementary registration of voters concludes on the 19th of August 2025.
