As former Head of State Dr. Nangolo Mbumba celebrates his 84th birthday today, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has extended her warm congratulations, honouring his life, legacy and enduring contribution to Namibia’s democratic journey.

In her statement, President Nandi-Ndaitwah reflected on Dr. Mbumba’s lifelong dedication and servant leadership, which began during the liberation struggle, continued through the founding of an independent Namibia and was exemplified during his tenure as the country’s fourth President. 

His dignified leadership, she noted, brought stability, a unity of purpose, and calm reassurance that guided the nation forward.

She further noted that Dr. Mbumba’s presidency was defined by selfless service, humility and an unwavering commitment to upholding the Namibian Constitution and advancing nation-building efforts. 

His legacy, she affirmed, remains an indelible mark on the fabric of the Namibian nation.
