The Affirmative Repositioning Party hosted a mass gathering in the |Khomas region to mobilise its members and elect community leaders who will serve on the ground.
Members, mainly consisting of young people from different constituencies in the |Khomas Region, gathered at the party headquarters to elect their community leaders.
Sem David, the |Khomas regional chairperson, explained the importance of the gathering: "For us to fill all the structures we have, we have to start from the community structure. That's why we call it a community establishment. We have to start from there. Then we come to the district. Then we come to the region. Then you come to the nation. So, today we are going to have elections for our community leaders."
The AR Member of Parliament and national spokesperson, George Kambala, said the movement is undergoing reorganisation, institutionalisation, and formalisation.
Since our formalisation in 2022, we have decided that now is the right time to implement the appropriate structures. That means that now, from your community, community districts, to regions and to the national REF councils. This programme focuses on the community, as every member and leader of AR must be part of a community, which is the core of our movement. Everywhere in the country, these activities are currently happening."
