The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture has kicked off with nationwide consultations on the Draft Teaching Professional Bill and its regulations. 

The first consultation session was held at Keetmanshoop.

Teachers and other stakeholders in education in the ||Kharas Region gathered at Keetmanshoop to provide input on the bill aimed at regulating and professionalising the teaching profession. 

The ||Kharas Education Directorate Director, Nicolaas Eiman, said the primary aim of the bill is to enhance and restore the teaching profession's reputation. 

"These regional consultations are specifically designed to be smooth and inclusive and guarantee that the accompanying regulations truly reflect the direct deeds and aspirations of our entire education community."

The education regional director noted the bill also seeks to improve the quality of education. 

"Ultimately our goal is to ensure high-quality education, training, and learning in both public and private education institutions to prosper again. Your participation in this consultation is crucial to ensuring the success of the mobilisation of all the stakeholders."
