Vice President Lucia Witbooi urged Namibia's youth to base their aspirations on faith, discipline, and a sense of purpose.

Speaking at St. Andrews AME Church to students and congregants, she described the new year and school calendar as a season of renewal, hope, and opportunity.

Witbooi delivered an encouraging message, reminding students of their value and potential. She advised investing time, gifts, and energy wisely; avoiding fleeting pursuits; and building future-focused habits.

"Discipline is the bridge between dreams and reality, built on consistent effort," she said. "Let your faith be your guiding compass. Let integrity be the foundation of your actions. Let service to others be your mission."

Witbooi urged students to trust in the Lord through prayer before decisions, embrace core principles like faith and purpose, and commit steadfastly to their pursuits. She stressed community support, calling on parents, teachers, and churches to foster daily excellence.

"Too often we rush into decisions without seeking God's guidance," she added. "Practise discipline: work diligently even when no one watches."

The Vice President affirmed the government's commitment to empowering youth nationwide and called on learners to embrace the year with determination.
