President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has extended well-wishes to Zambia for peaceful general elections this August, emphasising that regional stability is vital for Southern African development and integration

With less than three weeks before Zambia heads to the general elections on 13th August, all is going well so far. 

Campaigns seem to have reached an advanced stage. 

Ballot papers have been printed in Dubai and are being delivered to that land-linked country. 

Observers including those from the EU are already in Zambia. 

Namibia, being a sister country to Zambia, is closely monitoring the elections with keen interest. 

“Our elections in the region are conducted in line with the SADC principles and that is what I am seeing in Zambia and we just have to ensure that our election process is peaceful from the time of campaigns, elections and thereafter," said the Head of State.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah expects nothing less than just that. 

"That is exactly what I am really expecting to happen in Zambia and I know that the people of Zambia are fully aware of that because peace and stability are a prerequisite for development in our region to enable us fulfill our regional integration programs in order to take care of our people. So I really wish the people of Zambia well and let it be as usual, the peaceful elections." 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah disclosed this when she recently visited the Zambian High Commission in Windhoek.
