President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has commissioned Ndiitah Ngipondoka-Robiati as Namibia’s Ambassador Designate to the Swiss Confederation and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Speaking at State House, President Nandi-Ndaitwah said Ngipondoka-Robiati’s key responsibility is to advance, protect and safeguard Namibia’s national interests while strengthening the country’s relations with Switzerland.

The head of state said Namibia's voice in the multilateral system must be constructive, principled and clearly heard.

She tasked the newly commissioned ambassador with building on the longstanding relationship between the two countries by identifying opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education, research, technology and knowledge transfer.

As Permanent Representative in Geneva, Ngipondoka-Robiati is expected to advance Namibia’s interests within the United Nations system and other Geneva-based institutions while creating opportunities for partnerships and technical cooperation that support Namibia’s development priorities.

Nghipondoka-Robiati, who served as the Executive Director in the Ministry of International Relations and Trade, pledged to carry out her duty faithfully with discipline in the interest of Namibia and strengthen bilateral relations.
