To combat open defecation and raise awareness about sanitation and hygiene, the Otjozondjupa Regional Council handed over 109 pit latrine toilets in the Tsumkwe Constituency.

Regional Adult Learners Week and International Literacy Day were commemorated this week at Omatako in the Tsumkwe Constituency.

The Tsumkwe-Grootfontein road upgrade from gravel to tar, will be given priority by the Road Authority in terms of the regional road master plan document.

Otjozondjupa Governor John ||Khamuseb visited Tsumkwe Constituency for the first time since his appointment to familiarise himself with the community.

The Ju|hoansi Traditional Authority chief Tsamkgao ǂOma, in his opening remarks, appealed to the governor to visit the area more frequently. 

Some Swapo Party members at Tsumkwe held a demonstration recently to air what they term long-standing grievances over political exclusion, unfulfilled promises, and further claims of exclusion of youth and elders of the area from the party's restructuring process.

The community of Tsumkwe celebrated the official launch of a local cleaning campaign. The project, run under the theme of "Our Trash, Our Responsibility, Let's Keep Tsumkwe Clean", is funded by the US-based NGO Palms for Life.

Residents of Tsumkwe Settlement in the Otjozondjupa Region gathered for a New Year community engagement organised by Ombaye Fishing Company. 

 The event was held at the site where the company plans to construct a community guesthouse.

Tsumkwe Constituency continues to face logistical challenges due to poor road conditions and limited transport infrastructure, affecting the economic growth and business operations in the area.
