South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed his country's readiness to continue promoting SADC initiatives aimed at fostering regional integration.

A major new bridge set to preserve access across the future Polihali Reservoir was officially launched on Wednesday by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and King Letsie III, who hailed the new Senqu Bridge as a critical engineering lifeline for Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP).

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa closed the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg on Sunday, formally passing the Presidency to the United States, which will lead the grouping in 2026.

The G20's newly adopted Declaration outlines four high-level priorities, which President Cyril Ramaphosa says position the bloc on "how we can organise ourselves to be more focused on our core mandate."

The declaration was unanimously adopted at the opening of the leaders' summit. 

President Cyril Ramaphosa has decided to place the Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu, on leave with immediate effect and appoint Professor Firoz Cachalia as the acting Minister of Police.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has concluded her working visit to South Africa.

During her visit earlier today, President Nandi Ndaitwah met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
