Otjiwarongo residents join Clean-Up Campaign

Residents of Otjiwarongo joined in on the weekend's National Clean Up Campaign.

The campaign kicked off at the park, which over the years has become a dumpsite.

Volunteers took part and targeted four spots, including the area next to the hospital led by the Robert Youth Foundation.

The Namibian Police, together with other mourners, joined the family of the late Police Chief Inspector Riche Karel ||Naobeb in Otjiwarongo to lay him to rest.

||Naobeb, who was the Head of NamPol's VVIP Presidential Escort Division, died last week while on an official mission in Rundu, aged 49.

Family of five loses home in Otjiwarongo fire

A family of five at Otjiwarongo's informal settlement was left homeless after their corrugated iron house was gutted by fire last night.

The family said a 70-year-old grandmother was trying to light her smoking pipe in the house.
