Authorities in the Erongo Region have expressed satisfaction with the good behaviour demonstrated by both tourists and locals throughout the holiday season. 

The Vice President of Namibia, Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, says the acceleration of the country's developmental agenda can be attained at a fast pace through public-private partnerships. 

She made these remarks during the inauguration of the Onawa police station in the Oshana Region.

Former Omaheke Police Commander, Commissioner Andreas Haingura, is now the head of police in the Kavango East Region.

He has replaced Commissioner Johanna Ngondo, who is now the advisor in the Office of the Inspector General. 

The Erongo police have expressed concern over the number of young people who leave their homes without informing their parents and guardians, forcing them to report them missing.

The unwillingness of Windhoek's informal settlement residents to sign lease agreements with the city has delayed the completion of electrification projects.

Windhoek Mayor, Queen Kamati, revealed this during the council meeting. 

The Erongo Police will continue their special operations to arrest drug dealers, thieves, and other criminals terrorising Swakopmund residents.

Chief Inspector Iileni Shapumba says recent operations in this regard have yielded success.

Inspector General of the Police, Joseph Shikongo, has expressed disappointment with the performance of law enforcement officers in the Kavango East Region. 

Following a visit to the region, Shikongo addressed the underperformance and outlined improvement plans.

Namibians have been encouraged to recommit to the values of compassion, sacrifice, and care for one another as they collectively build a peaceful, safe, and prosperous Namibian house.

President Nangolo Mbumba extended these words of encouragement in a statement, on the occasion of the Easter weekend.

The festive season is rapidly drawing nearer, and the police are gearing up for their festive season crime prevention and road safety initiatives.

The Inspector General of the Police, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, has instructed the Regional Commander in Zambezi to extend police services to rural communities.

Shikongo gave these instructions during the inauguration of the Crime Prevention Awareness Campaign in the Zambezi.
