SADC ends Peacekeeping Mission in the DRC

SADC has terminated its peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), announcing the phased withdrawal of SAMIDRC troops. The decision was made during a virtual extraordinary summit of SADC Heads of State and Government on Thursday.

Zimbabwe elections underway

The incumbent president of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, cast his vote this morning at his hometown of KweKwe, about 200 kilometres outside Harare.

 

Mnangagwa, in an interview with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), continued to call for a peaceful election.
