Kavango East Health Directorate needs equipped ambulances

A lack of well-equipped ambulances in the Kavango East Region compromises timely medical assistance to patients in remote areas. 

This was shared by the Chief Medical Officer at the Rundu Intermediate Hospital, Dr. Medson Chibwe, with members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health.

The Rundu Intermediate Hospital is still faced with overcrowding, leading to congested corridors and long waiting times, compromising service delivery.

The hospital caters for patients from the Kavango East, Kavango West, and Zambezi regions, as well as neighbouring Angola.

The Onandjokwe Endoscopic Outreach service will soon be known as the Professor Fillemon Amaambo Endoscopic Tour.

This comes after the Prime Minister, Elijah Ngurare, toured the hospital in September and enquired why the renovations had stopped.
