The 2026 Miss Namibia and Miss Teen finalists made a special appearance at the official opening of the newly built Die Dam Amphitheatre in Gobabis on Saturday.

The calls to maintain unity in diversity were also echoed at the 111th commemoration of the Battle of Sam !Khubis, as President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah encouraged Namibians to participate in cultural and historical events across the country.

Uukwambi Traditional Authority has already started with preparations for the hosting of the Omagongo festival.

The festival rotates among the eight traditional authorities of Aawambo ethnic goups. 

Omagongo festival, has become a key cultural celebration since its inception about 25 years ago.

Namibians are encouraged to tap into the key activities planned for the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People exchanges.

China's Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, made the announcement during a symposium with Namibians from different walks of life who visited China.
