Vice-President Lucia Witbooi has urged the Sesfontein inhabitants to correct what she called the mistake of the past by voting for the Swapo Party in the upcoming by-election.

In preparation for the Regional By-Election for the Otjiwarongo constituency councilor, set to take place this month, the Swapo Party convened in Kalfeld to encourage residents to vote for Paulus Nekundi as their candidate.

Swapo Party President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has clarified that all members of the newly appointed Cabinet are party cadres. She says the appointments are aimed at fulfilling the Swapo Party's election manifesto.

Swapo Party President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has dismissed media reports suggesting a rift between her and Secretary-General Sophia Shaningwa.

Addressing a press conference at the Swapo Party headquarters in Windhoek, Nandi-Ndaitwah labelled the reports as false and divisive.

Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, paid a courtesy call to Swapo Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa after returning from the 72nd Miss World event held in Hyderabad, India.

Shaningwa welcomed Kamanya with a hug and affectionately referred to her as her grandmother, smiling brightly.

Swapo Party Member Natangue Ithete has assured the residents of Grootfontein of improved development and service delivery, given the mandate through the by-election on 17th June.

The party fielded Nelao Amagulu as its candidate in the Grootfontein by-election.

The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) has said it remains strong and unwavering in its mission despite the defection of its three senior members to the Swapo Party. 

IPC's Erongo Chairperson, Alosius Kangulu, addressed the media on Friday at Walvis Bay .

The Swapo Party held a candlelight vigil at the party's headquarters to honour the heroes and heroines who lost their lives during the Cassinga Massacre in 1978 in Angola. 

On the 4th of May in 1978, an event took place in the Cassinga refugee camp in Southern Angola.

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has said the funds allocated to the Office of the President for the 2025/2026 budget would enable President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to effectively implement projects as outlined in the Swapo Party manifesto and the 6th National Development Plan.

The Swapo Party has condemned the violent and senseless killings and urged law enforcement agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.
