Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, paid a courtesy call to Swapo Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa after returning from the 72nd Miss World event held in Hyderabad, India.

Shaningwa welcomed Kamanya with a hug and affectionately referred to her as her grandmother, smiling brightly.

Swapo Party pays tribute to Cassinga victims

The Swapo Party held a candlelight vigil at the party's headquarters to honour the heroes and heroines who lost their lives during the Cassinga Massacre in 1978 in Angola. 

On the 4th of May in 1978, an event took place in the Cassinga refugee camp in Southern Angola.

Ngurare Defends N$1.4 Billion Budget for Presidency

Swapo Party marks 65th anniversary

The Swapo Party marks its 65th anniversary today.

Founded in 1960 as the successor to the Ovamboland People's Organization, Swapo played a pivotal role in Namibia's liberation struggle and has been the ruling party since the country gained independence in 1990.
