President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has paid tribute to Cuba's former president, Raul Castro, who celebrates his 95th birthday on June 3rd, describing it as an important milestone.

Former Cuban President Raul Castro today celebrates his 95th birthday against the backdrop of ever-increasing pressure from the United States government, underlined by a US Department of Justice indictment. 

Namibia says the success of the UN80 reform process hinges on member states meeting their financial obligations and that efficiency measures do not undermine programmes that support developing countries.

Namibia has warned that unilateral actions, the selective implementation of UN resolutions, and growing global fragmentation are weakening the foundations of international peace and security.

If the veto is retained, Namibia insists it should be extended to all Council members. 

The Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, said Namibia and France continue to strengthen their diplomatic and economic relations, noting that the two countries cooperate through diplomatic missions and growing business engagements.
