HIGH COURT ORDERS COMPENSATION IN ARREST CASE

The High Court has ordered former Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHAISS) to compensate social activists Michael Amushelelo and Dimbulukeni Nauyoma for their arrest, detention and prosecution.

In court earlier, Amushelelo stated that he had only managed to raise approximately N$32,000, which he deemed insufficient to secure legal representation from his preferred lawyer.
