A Grade 10 learner at Simanya Combined School in the Kavango West Region is in critical condition after allegedly attempting to take his own life Tuesday morning.

Officials from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) office at Rundu, catering to Kavango West, Kavango East, and Zambezi regions, are conducting public corruption awareness engagements across the Kavango West Region.

The Kavango West Regional Council is working to improve service delivery in the region. A recent staff meeting provided an open platform for dialogue between leadership and employees.

A double murder occurred in the village of Kayeura in the Musese Constituency in the Kavango West Region on Friday afternoon, where two elderly pensioners were killed, allegedly by their grandson.

The Chairperson of the National Council and councillor of Mankupi Constituency, Lukas Muha, issued a stern warning against the use of divisive language. 

He urged community members to refrain from statements that promote tribalism, racism or regionalism. 

Inhabitants of Kavango East and West regions say the appointment of Dr Elijah Ngurare as Prime Minister brings hope and inspiration to many. The town's inhabitants celebrated his appointment at Rundu.

Due to their favourable climate and water availability, both Kavango regions are considered key for national food security.

Swapo Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa urged the regional leaders to focus on improving food productivity in the region.

A 15-year-old boy died on Wednesday morning after he was bumped while walking on the B10 road near Dudu Village in Kavango West.

The Kavango West Chief Regional Officer, Matheus Singambwe, says the council has employed several strategies to promote professionalism and good governance.

He said this during an interview with the MICT Kavango West regional office.

Kavango West Governor Verna Sinimbo says there has been a change in the lives of beneficiaries since the start of these outreach programs by the various UN agencies in collaboration with the various ministries.
