NCS, NamForce sign MoU to bolster financial security for correctional staff


The Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) and NamForce Life Insurance have signed a memorandum of understanding to bolster financial security for correctional staff in the event of the loss of a loved one.

The MOU, signed by Commissioner-General Raphael Hamunyela and NamForce Life Insurance MD Martin Shaanika, aims to provide comprehensive life insurance and financial cover, offering critical support to staff and their families during times of bereavement.

Namibia and Indonesia are in the process of mapping out and exploring new areas of cooperation.

This is in line with Indonesia's economic cooperation with Africa, aimed at transforming and establishing relations into economic cooperation for mutual benefits between the two countries.

A business delegation from Indonesia that is currently in Namibia held a business forum with key players in various sectors of the economy.

Namibia, Botswana tackle corrupt acts


Bribery and theft of assets from the government are among the corrupt acts that need to be addressed in Namibia and Botswana.

Namibia's Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Botswana's Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) have convened a two-day meeting to, among others, tackle identified gaps in combating corruption in both countries following a signed agreement in 2021.

Nkurenkuru, Ruacana sign MoU to improve service


The Nkurenkuru and Ruacana Town Councils have stepped up cooperation between the two local authorities by renewing an existing memorandum of agreement.

The agreement, which was signed in Nkurenkuru, the regional capital of the Kavango West Region, aims to increase cooperation between the two local authorities to propel development and service delivery.

Rundu, Ruacana partner up in various areas


Rundu and Ruacana have agreed to partner up in various areas of cooperation.

This comes after the two town councils renewed their cooperation through a memorandum of understanding at Rundu.

The two town councils agreed to address emerging issues, promote sustainable development, and create a conducive environment for investment and innovation.

The mayor of Ruacana, Linda Mbwale, pointed out some areas for cooperation.

Namport and Port of Antwerp-Bruges sign MoU


The Namibian Port Authority (Namport), Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the first-ever hydrogen-powered vessel to operate in Namibian waters.

Additionally, Namport and the port of Antwerp-Bruges signed an agreement focusing on the development of the north port of Walvis Bay.

Namibia is set up to play a key role in the global energy transition, with a pioneering position in renewable energy, and natural resources, given its strategic geographical position. 

MEFT signs MoU with Belgium's Lignaverda Reforestation Cooperation Project


The Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Belgium's Lignaverda Reforestation Cooperation Project.

The Lignaverda Reforestation Cooperation Project is involved in reforesting semi-arid areas at risk of land degradation and desertification.

Its approach includes the active involvement of communities in sustainable forest management practices to coordinate forest protection and valorisation of grass, crops, and non-timber forest products.

NBC/NFA Sign Memorandum of Understanding


The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and the Namibia Football Association (NFA) have officially inked a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, aimed at collaborating to elevate football promotion in Namibia.

This partnership entails developing content for the NFA's premier leagues to elevate corporate branding, media coverage, and societal influence. Additionally, the NBC will offer media coverage of NFA events across various platforms and secure broadcasting rights for NFA matches.

Work Integrated Learning gains momentum


Work-integrated learning programmes, or internships, are more than just a phase in a student's academic journey; they are a transformative experience that provides students with real-world exposure and opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in a practical setting. 

These were the sentiments shared at the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the University of Namibia, NovaNam, and Millenium Refrigeration and Electrical Services in Windhoek on Tuesday. 

NamRA, BIPA sign MoU


With money laundering, business fraud, and illicit dealings detected in the business environment, the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA) and the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to curb and educate those in the business world about these emerging crimes.

The collaboration between the two is to build a foundation that safeguards the rights of intellectual property rights holders, the owners of businesses, and those who are users and benefactors in both areas by exchanging information.
