The Swapo Party has condemned U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to reinstate Cuba on the list of "state sponsors of terrorism".
Reiterating its unwavering solidarity with Cuba, the Swapo Party highlighted the enduring hardships caused by over 60 years of unilateral sanctions and an illegal economic blockade imposed by the U.S.
The party described the redesignation as unjustified, arbitrary, and lacking any basis in international law, emphasising Cuba's historical role in supporting oppressed nations, including Namibia, during their struggles for freedom and independence.
The party has called on the international community, especially the United Nations, to oppose the continued economic blockade and ensure Cuba's removal from the controversial list, reaffirming its steadfast bond of friendship with the Cuban people.
