The suspects linked to the violent NAMDIA robbery are set to make their second appearance before the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court this Friday.
The case involves the theft of diamonds valued at N$315 million.
Among those scheduled to appear is Joel Angula (45), a former protection officer at NAMDIA, facing multiple charges including murder, two counts of attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and illegal possession of uncut diamonds.
Angula was arrested shortly after the January 18 robbery, during which NAMDIA’s head of security, Francis Eiseb (57), was fatally shot.
Also appearing is Sam Shololo (45), a former soldier.
Shololo was initially hospitalized with injuries sustained during the crime but has since been discharged and remains in custody.
Samuel Shipanga (33), a security guard, will also appear in court. He faces charges of theft under the Diamond Act.
Max Endjala allegedly took his own life at the crime scene.
NAMDIA has so far recovered N$40.6 million worth of stolen diamonds.
The NAMDIA board has suspended senior officials, including CEO Alisa Amupolo, pending internal investigations.
