Retired Namibian Defence Force lieutenant colonel Natangwe Kadhingula allegedly committed suicide at his home in Okahandja on Wednesday.

Police Operations Officer Chief Inspector Paulus Shapaka told Nampa that the 65-year-old Kadhingula's body was found at his residence on 8th Avenue, with a gunshot wound to the head.

No suicide note was discovered, and the motive behind the apparent suicide remains unknown to the police.

An inquest docket has been opened at the Okahandja Police Station.
