The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has confirmed the arrest of a ninth suspect in the ongoing multi-million-dollar corruption scandal involving the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia.

The arrest occurred on Thursday evening, but the ACC has not revealed the suspect's identity, only noting that he is male and connected to one of the previously arrested individuals.

During court proceedings on Thursday, state prosecutors indicated that five more arrests are expected.

Two of these suspects are likely to appear in court as early as Friday or by Monday.

Prosecutors allege that more than N$480 million has been defrauded from

Namcor, and the ACC has stated that investigations are still ongoing.

The latest suspect is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
