Police in the Zambezi Region are investigating a murder linked to domestic violence in Mwemba village, Mafuta area.

A 29-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted with an unknown object by her 30-year-old husband after she confronted him about being with a suspected girlfriend. Neighbours heard her screams before the couple returned home.

The woman was later found bleeding from the nostrils on a mattress with no other visible injuries. She was taken to Katima Mulilo State Mortuary for a postmortem.

The husband reportedly called his employer at 05h00, realising his wife was not breathing. Police arrested him at the scene.

Both are Zambian nationals. Next of kin have been informed, and investigations continue.
