The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) said it has taken decisive action to ensure that all required and correct quantities of ballot materials are secured for the special voting on 24 November 2025 and the main voting on 26 November 2025.

This assurance follows the detection of discrepancies in ballot paper deliveries during the internal distribution and verification of ballot packs supplied by the contracted printing company, South Africa's UniPrint Global.

The issues detected include the under-allocation and over-allocation of ballot papers to some polling stations, the presence of duplicate ballot papers in packs designated for both regional council and local authority elections,

Various other discrepancies were noted in several constituencies and local authorities in the Kavango West, Ohangwena, |Khomas, Omusati, Oshikoto, Otjozondjupa, Kunene and Erongo regions.

ECN's Chief Electoral and Referenda Officer, Peter Shaama, said the discrepancies would affect the quantities required at specific polling stations.
