Matheus Veldskoen, vying for a seat in the Karasburg East constituency in the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities election, has pledged to champion inclusivity and empowerment.
Canvassing for votes, Veldskoen and his supporters took to the streets of Karasburg, distributing flyers outlining his vision, mission and key campaign messages.
He said his leadership style is people-centred with a priority on socio-economic development, focusing on education, entrepreneurship and infrastructure development.
"The thing is, I want to be there for the community, voted by the community, working for the community, and not being associated with anything else except for the community. For me, as I said, I really want to see that there must be a transformation coming in our region. The transformation that we have to get liberated from our power demand set. To get out and say, 'Grab every opportunity that is available'."
Veldskoen also promises the restoration of dignity through land delivery.
"This is the Bondelswart area; this is our heritage. We specifically need to restore the heritage of Bondelswart. I must emphasise this point because we have lost a significant amount of land. And according to the Communal Land Act, Bondelswart only has three lands. So, if we have our traditional leaders on board, working with them, it will be a great future for all of us in this region."
Veldskoen reminded voters that their votes are crucial for realising his vision.
