Swapo Party President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on the youth of Namibia to make use of available opportunities provided by the Namibian government.
Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah made the call at the Swapo Party's final campaign rally ahead of Wednesday's Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections.
The rally took place at the Kronlein Stadium, attended by a large crowd of party supporters.
The president was also joined by cabinet ministers and governors as well as religious and traditional leaders.
She highlighted the government's development priorities in southern Namibia, with a strong focus on maximising the opportunities provided by the Neckartal dam. She also urged the youth to make use of the opportunities.
The Swapo Party President also stated that the National Youth Development Fund was also operationalised, with 42 youth projects across the country having already received funding from the N$257 million. budgeted for the Youth Development Fund.
"In fact, the number, as I am talking, has increased; these were the ones that were part of the launch of the project in Gobabis, where the PM and the Minister of Finance launched the programme, which will be implemented through three financial institutions, Agribank, EIF and NamPost. They must go to the governor's office to be assisted."
Nandi-Ndaitwah urged people of southern Namibia to go out and vote for the Swapo Party on Wednesday, as the party's candidates represent and understand the government's goals as outlined in the sixth National Development Plan.
