Botswana's outgoing High Commissioner has said the Trans-Kalahari Railway Line project remains a vital undertaking between Botswana and Namibia that is yet to be completed.

Phemelo Rankoro highlighted the project as one of the key priorities for his successor during his farewell meeting with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at State House on Wednesday.

Botswana and Namibia hosted the second Bi-National Commission meeting in 2025, co-chaired by President Nandi-Ndaitwah and Botswana's President, Duma Boko.

High Commissioner Rankoro described the meeting as a highlight of his diplomatic tenure, adding that it resulted in the signing of several agreements meant to expand cooperation between the two countries.
