The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has handed over a renovated international-standard netball court to Eros Primary School in Windhoek, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots sports development and empowering young learners.

The upgraded facility was officially handed over on 28 January 2026, marking a significant investment in education and youth development through sport. The handover ceremony brought together government officials, school management, learners, NamRA staff, and community members as the new court was unveiled at the school premises.

Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Dino Ballotti, commended NamRA for its contribution, highlighting the importance of access to quality sporting facilities in nurturing talent and promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.

"On behalf of my minister, Dr Sanet Steenkamp, and on behalf of our ministry, we say thank you very much to NamRA. Namibia is a better place because of you," Ballotti said.

NamRA Commissioner Sam Shivute said the project reflects the institution's commitment to excellence and meaningful community investment. He emphasized that the quality of the infrastructure aligns with the agency's broader institutional goals.

"If you commit to doing something, you cannot have a vision of being a world-class institution while providing substandard services or infrastructure. This is an international-standard netball court for learners at Eros Primary School," Shivute added.

The new facility is expected to enhance sporting activities at the school while contributing to the long-term development of netball at the grassroots level. By providing a world-class environment for young athletes, the initiative underscores the role of corporate responsibility in shaping the future of Namibian sport.
