Four people have died in a car accident along the Omaruru-Karibib road, following a collision with a truck

The accident occurred about 20 kilometers from Karibib towards Omaruru.

According to the police report, it is alleged that a white freight liner truck travelling from Karibib towards Omaruru, made a sudden U-turn, and collided with a sedan, carrying six occupants. 

The sedan's 49-year-old male driver and a 73-year old female passenger died on the spot.

Two other female passengers, aged 53 and 66 died in the Omaruru State Hospital, while two other passengers sustained serious injuries and are in critical condition. 

The driver of the truck escaped without any injuries. 

The next of kin are not yet informed and police investigations continue.
