Namibia's embassy in Cairo, Egypt, is encouraging citizens in the Middle East to exercise heightened caution and remain vigilant.

This follows security concerns of an evolving and volatile situation where security conditions remain unpredictable and may deteriorate or change without warning. 

The embassy in a statement says it's closely monitoring developments and assessing information as it becomes available.

It further assured all Namibian citizens residing, transiting through, or traveling within the region that their safety and well-being remain a priority.

Therefore, the embassy will continue to provide timely updates and relevant information to keep Namibians informed as the situation unfolds.

Although no reports indicated that Namibian nationals are affected, everybody in the region are strongly encouraged to exercise heightened caution and remain vigilant.

The embassy advised close monitoring of local news, avoiding high-risk areas or large gatherings and locations that might pose safety concerns.

They also added that citizens must follow instructions issued by local authorities, ensure that travel documents are valid and readily accessible, and confirm that their contact details are up-to-date with the embassy or nearest Namibian diplomatic mission. 

Furthermore, they must maintain regular communication with family members and trusted contacts and keep travel to a minimum and an absolute necessity. 

Namibian nationals who require consular assistance, registration, or any support are urged to immediately contact the Namibian embassy in Cairo for guidance and assistance.
