Rehoboth Mayor, Jacky Khariseb, said the Rehoboth Town Council remains committed to completing the renovations of the RehoSpa Resort.

Khariseb highlighted this when he paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi to engage and consult on the transfer of the resort to the council.

The matter involves the transfer of fixed assets and the ongoing development and rehabilitation of the recreational facilities, bungalows, and spa.

The mayor expressed gratitude for the financial injection by the ministry for the rehabilitation of Phase 1 and Phase 2, which are nearing completion.

Accountability reports, Khariseb notes, are due for submission to the line ministry to enable further consultations and assistance toward Phase 3 of the project.

On his part, Nekundi urged for the acceleration of outstanding matters and bottlenecks and to complete the transfer of the property to open the facilities to the community.

The minister further encourages the RTC to assist the ministry in the feasibility study for the possible construction of a railway line for a commuter passenger train between Rehoboth and Windhoek, as well as the asset transfer process of the ministry for all government assets in Rehoboth.
