The President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) expressed their readiness to assist Namibia, especially in areas of agriculture, infrastructure, water and sanitation.
Abdullah Khalil Al-Musaibeeh made the remarks during a courtesy visit to President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, where she pointed out the need to fast-track the cooperation between Namibia and the bank.
Al-Musaibeeh and the technical team are currently in Namibia on a three-day visit and engaged with various ministries on different areas of cooperation.
"We cannot allow it to go without trying to heighten our cooperation between Namibia and the Arab Bank for Economic Development. I'm saying to highlight because I know we had already such a collaboration, but it was like there was a long break, and we really want to catch up on what we have lost from the time we were working together and this time."
Badea noted that within the next few months, some work will commence in Namibia.
Established by the Arab League in 1974, mainly to work in sub-Saharan countries in Africa, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa works in four pillars.
These are trade and private sector development, infrastructure investment, agriculture value chains, SMEs and entrepreneurship.
