The construction of a soup kitchen and counselling office is set to kick-start following Powercom's donation of N$60,000 to Omake Charity Organisation.

For the past eight years, Omake Charity Organisation has been serving the community from borrowed spaces in temporary structures.

Powercom's donation will be used to kick-start a permanent shelter for the children who require food and adults who need counselling services.

Chairperson of the Omake Charity Organisation, Eddy Kgobetsi, reiterated, "From tents, from places that were never built for dignity. Today that changes. We are deeply honoured to announce Powercom has stepped forward as a founding sponsor for the construction of our permanent Omake soup kitchen and counselling office right here in Otjiwarongo."
