The Namibia Reinsurance Corporation (NamibRe) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a five-kilometre fun walk and a golf day in Swakopmund, bringing together government officials, business leaders, former directors, and international delegates.
The events formed part of an anniversary programme designed to promote health, networking, and industry engagement.
The activities began with a 5km fun walk through Swakopmund. Finance Minister Erika Shafuda joined a core group of 25 participants symbolising the company’s 25 years of operation and noted that the initiative promotes physical health and mental well-being, both of which are vital for the nation.
The celebrations then moved to the golf course, attracting between 60 and 70 local and international players.
NamibRe Managing Director Patty Karuaihe-Martin highlighted that prioritizing employee and partner wellness remains key, adding that hosting African delegates alongside leadership made the occasion particularly meaningful.
Former NamibRe director David Kenjele, who served during the company's early years, reflected on its progress from a small entity to an established corporation, expressing confidence in its continued growth over the next 50 years.
The anniversary activities provided a platform for Namibian and continental stakeholders to strengthen industry relationships while celebrating the company's milestone.
