Grieving families buried victims of a devastating fire in Bukavu, eastern DRC, on Monday, after the blaze killed at least 29 people, most of them schoolchildren, and injured dozens.

Three suspects have been apprehended by the police in Otjiwarongo after allegedly robbing an American tourist couple at a local lodge in town.

Otjozondjupa Police Community Liaison Officer Maureen Mbeha said the suspects are between the ages of 24 and 33.

Namibia is joining other African countries at the Africa Green Hydrogen Summit, taking place from 15 to 16 September.

The summit brings together governments, investors, project developers and other stakeholders to advance green hydrogen across the continent.

Industries, Mines and Energy Minister Modestus Amutse has called on electricity distributors to reach consensus on project implementation, noting that such collaboration would help craft a faster and more effective approach to implementation.

Namibia's green hydrogen ambitions are extending beyond large-scale industrial projects, with research now exploring how the clean energy source could be used in everyday applications such as cooking.
