Francistown City Council, Botswana’s second-largest municipality, is exploring the possibility of establishing twinning arrangements with Windhoek City Council and the coastal municipality of Swakopmund. 

Fishing industry players have raised concerns regarding bycatch regulations, difficulties in replacing deceased shareholders, and the absence of a legal framework governing the small-scale fishing sector.

NamWater is owed a total of N$2.8 billion by various entities, an amount that poses a serious risk to national water security.

It is, therefore, urgently calling on local authorities, government institutions, industries and all consumers to settle their accounts.

Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa stated that the region possesses untapped economic potential, with resources that can be transformed into engines of shared prosperity.

She made these remarks while opening the Ohangwena Regional Investment Strategy and Action Plan Development workshop at Eenhana.

The Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, said some community members have a large part to play when it comes to criminal activities in Kavango East.
