The |Khomas Regional Council in the capital handed over 71 mattresses, valued at N$50.000 to A. Shipena Secondary School's hostel.

The |Khomas Regional Council has officially opened its 2026 session, with Chairperson Stefanus Ndengu pledging to improve service delivery in education, health, water, and security under the motto, "We're not satisfied until you are."

The |Khomas Regional Council (KRC) held its sixth ordinary council meeting for 2025, which also marked its final meeting for the 2020 to 2025 period. 

The gathering addressed the council's achievements over the time frame.

The Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA), in collaboration with the #BeFree Movement and the |Khomas Regional Council, is hosting a three-day career guidance and information-sharing event.

The |Khomas Regional Council, through the Moses ||Garoëb Constituency office, has donated income-generating materials valued at around N$230,000.

This is to address the high unemployment rate and poverty within the constituency.

The |Khomas Regional Council has donated building material to four families whose dwellings were gutted by fire in Havanna last week.

The material, which was handed over by the Councillor of the Moses ||Garoëb Constituency, Stefanus Ndengu, consisted of 60 iron sheets, 30 poles, and 12 pines.

The |Khomas Regional Council visited various project sites in Windhoek to assess progress and engage with site managers.

The project involves the construction of classrooms at two schools, as well as the improvement of A. Shipena Secondary School's sports field.

The Cunene Province delegation, along with their governor, Gerdina Didalelwa, visited small-scale farms with the |Khomas Regional Council as part of their week-long programme.

After the visit, the two regions are expected to sign a twinning agreement that will enable them to cooperate in various sectors.

The John Pandeni Constituency office in the |Khomas Region has donated school uniforms to over 30 needy learners at A. Shipena Secondary School in Katutura.

The donation was made through the |Khomas Region Council's Back to School Programme, dedicated to supporting underprivileged learners.

The |Khomas Regional Council, together with the Office of the Prime Minister, handed over food parcels to Windhoek residents affected by the flash floods. 

According to the Chief Regional Officer of |Khomas Regional Council, over 280 households and 1,186 individuals have been affected directly.
