Namibia and Egypt have reaffirmed their shared commitment to African unity, development, and human-centred cooperation during the celebration of the 73rd anniversary of Egypt's independence, during a diplomatic reception in Windhoek.

Acting High Commissioner of Malaysia to Namibia, Mohamad Rameez Yahaya, announced his country's commitment to assist Namibia in addressing the drought situation.

Malaysia will contribute over N$700,000 towards relief efforts.

Yahaya said this during Malaysia's 61st National Day celebration.

International Relations and Cooperation's Deputy Minister Jennelly Matundu says Africans can promote intra-continental trade and ensure food security if they all work together.
