Swapo Party MP Solomon April has questioned why the Ministry of Works and Transport issued "purchase or vacate" letters to former government employees living in government houses.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) took a key step towards realising President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah's directive – that by April 2026, all civil servants should have the benefit of access to healthcare services from public facilities.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has reiterated her call that civil servants start using state medical facilities for treatment.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah announced that the government spends about N$3.6 billion on public servants' medical aid as a benefit.

Staff members from the Kavango West Regional Council and its delegated offices gathered at the Nkurenkuru Community Hall on Friday to follow the national address to civil servants, delivered virtually by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

The Public Service Commission is concerned over anomalies in audit reports relating to probation and leave of civil servants.

This was revealed by Commissioner in the Public Service Commission, Batseba Katjiuongua, at a recent engagement with government HR practitioners at Otjiwarongo. 

The Hardap Governor, Salomon April, has  called on civil servants to foster a culture of integrity, transparency, accountability, and good governance. 

Civil servants on maternity leave will now receive their full salaries.
