The Electricity Control Board (ECB) has renewed the moratorium on the granting of generation licences for electricity export purposes until January 2029.

The City of Windhoek conducted site visits to ongoing electrification projects across the capital to assess progress on the rollout of the electricity infrastructure that will benefit over 1,200 households. 

The project, which is 80% completed, is expected to be finalised in September.

The Keetmanshoop Municipality has applied for an N$11.9 million loan from the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) to upgrade its electricity infrastructure. 

This transpired at the presentation of the municipality's ministerial-approved N$296.8 million operational budget to residents on Tuesday.
